Interest in writing for SciLine
SciLine is building a roster of U.S.-based freelance reporters who have a background using scientific research, especially those with a background in writing for an audience of journalists. Our team is looking to assign pieces for our website and forthcoming newsletter that will provide scientific context to enrich local reporting or cover surrounding issues.
We’re looking for stories of around 500-1,500 words, such as reported features ($1/word for 1000-1500 words) or tips on writing about a specific topic with evidence ($0.75/word for 500-1000 words). We are open to both giving assignments and taking pitches for pieces which guide journalists in using scientific evidence throughout local reporting.
Please fill out the following brief form if you’re interested. Thank you!
