Crash Courses
SciLine hosts free, hour-long training sessions for local journalists, general assignment reporters, and editors. These Crash Courses, co-led by a veteran science reporter and a Ph.D. scientist, are designed to quickly convey practical tips for strengthening news stories with science-backed evidence.
In addition to periodic open offerings of our “Science Essentials” Crash Courses, tailored sessions are also available to newsrooms, professional journalism groups, and journalism school classes by request.
